Prosthetics - Design Plan!

To start off this module, one of three possible briefs were picked from to begin this prosthetic process.

The three options were to create a human-animal hybrid, a fantasy alien or your own design proposal. The own design is what was picked.

The student is a big lover of Halloween and the like, including pumpkins. They really wanted to make a design incorporating these themes. They put together a mini mood-board to start getting an idea of what they wanted to achieve.

They then came across a design from Lauren 'Mykie' Mountain (Glam&Gore). This was still a pumpkin design, however it was a human character that had almost been carved like a pumpkin.

This idea was very intriguing, and was something they wanted to work towards. The student developed an interest in special effects makeup when creating gore makeup for Halloween, so they really liked the idea of combining the two.

The student was thinking of using a different mouth shape, similar to this that they had done on a pumpkin and carved in October.

They attempted to use Zbrush to create a model of a simple pumpkin design. This application is incredibly difficult to use when you are not familiar with it. It took a lot of playing around but they were able to achieve a basic design with this. They had wanted to make it more detailed, but that was way above their skill level.
